FREEZE FRAME VIDEO BOOTH
Event Name: Matt Jones "Frames of the Mind" cycling film launch
Locations: Omeara London
Red Bull approached Green Screen UK to create a Freeze Frame live video open booth, to capture the essence of the recently released film "Frames of the Mind" staring professional mountain bike rider and Red Bull athlete Matt Jones.
The film makes use of stop motion technique with the help of a green screen. Red Bull wanted us to recreate this technique at a party with the proviso that the videos must be instantly created. As bikes were out of the question party guests would be taking a running jump off a trampoline into a crash mat to recreate the 360 spin featured in the film.
Using our knowledge of live video production, green screen and video editing automation, we go to work testing and creating. We devised a system that allowed us to shot and edit each video in around 6-8 minutes, the videos were scaled down for posting directly to Instagram, thus developing the first freeze frame video open booth.
Guests would queue up to take a run and jump of the trampoline into the crash mats. We had several crew on site to manage the queue and tech teams to manage the camera and editing. As the person jumped they were filmed and the editor would immediately begin the process of creating the freeze frame videos. Video were scaled down to size for posting directly to Instagram.
Red Bull and their guests were extremely happy with the end result. In total we created 60 videos on the night. The videos were supplied to Red Bull who shared them via their own social media channels.
